This guide is for people coming from the previous version of Playlab. It will be retired in August 2026 once everyone has migrated. For current Playlab guidance, see Learn on Your Own or Feature Documentation.
The all-access organization role is Owner. The org also has Creator, Editor, Viewer, and Workspace-only roles. The capabilities described on this page belong to the Owner role.
At a glance
- Org-level data and insights live in one dashboard, no workspace-by-workspace digging required.
- Flagged messages from across the org surface in a centralized view.
- Apps deploy across orgs and workspaces without remixing.
- Member detail pages show what any single member has done inside a workspace.
More data, with insights
The org dashboard shows usage across every workspace, app, and member. You can filter by date range, by app, by workspace, or by member. Insights are added in the same dashboard as they ship: time-on-task patterns, app-level engagement, and aggregate conversation summaries. Some are live now. Others ship in the next eng cycle and surface as they are available. For more, see Centralized org monitoring.Centralized monitoring of flagged messages
Previously, a flagged conversation was visible inside the workspace where it occurred. To find flags across an organization, an admin had to walk every workspace. Playlab now surfaces all flagged messages in one place. Filter by severity, by member, or by workspace. Click through to the conversation, the member’s full detail page, or the app where the flag came from. For escalation paths, the existing Escalating Flagged Conversations doc still applies. The dashboard makes it faster to find what to escalate.Deploy apps at scale
Previously, deployment for an admin meant remixing an app once per workspace, or once per organization for partner deployments. Updates required re-remixing. Now you can share apps directly with workspaces, groups, or other organizations. For curated bundles, you build a Collection and share it once. Recipients see updates as they ship. For more, see Sharing with groups and orgs and Cross-workspace app use.”How do I know what a kid has been doing?”
This was the most common admin question before. Playlab now has a direct answer. From the org dashboard, find the member. Their detail page lists every app they have used, every conversation they have had inside any workspace they belong to, every flagged message, and every app they have built. The view is admin-scoped, so it includes activity across all workspaces in the org. For more, see Workspace member detail. What stays the same
Org structure, member roles, and SSO all carry over. The data model added to support the new dashboards is additive: your existing data is preserved and queryable in the new views.FAQ
